During our div;or;ce hearing, my husband laughed

People with high blood pressure or high cholesterol need to be extra careful in the morning because the body naturally experiences a rise in blood pressure shortly after waking. This “morning surge” can increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes, making early habits especially important.

Three common morning mistakes can quietly strain the heart:

  1. Having strong coffee or smoking immediately – Caffeine can quickly raise blood pressure, and nicotine tightens blood vessels, causing dangerous spikes.

  2. Eating greasy or fried breakfasts – Foods high in saturated or trans fats raise “bad” cholesterol and clog arteries.

  3. Starting the day with intense exercise or stress – Heavy activity or emotional tension right after waking puts extra pressure on blood vessels during an already sensitive time.

Instead, gentle habits like drinking warm water, choosing antioxidant-rich foods, and easing into the day with stretching or calm breathing can help protect heart health.
